Rainy Day

Another rainy day today Monday. A good day to stay indoors and blog and read and watch Man City lose on the telly. In the news I read that the French are abandoning the word "Madamoiselle" in all official documents. It has always been too sexist and discriminatory against women, after all the men were only " Monsieur." But it is such a beautiful word, madamoiselle, it will be sad to lose it. From now on all women will be "Madame". Apparently they haven't used "Ms."
Another bit of obvious news, in the UK they are going to ban suntanning salons for teenagers, the highest cause of death being skin cancer in this age group. About time all countries did this.
It is hard to guess how it will all end in Syria. But if one looks at the history of Lebanon, maybe they will go the same route eventually as in that country.

Lots of varied news snippets shared today, Michael :) Would be nice to own a crystal ball to see into the future. Excellent news about those sun beds! The dermatologist I see for an annual check has been advocating the discontinuance of those machines for as long as I've known him. Paris had a hearty breakfast. He's lucky he can enjoy such a heaping with all the cycling he does. He's not only trim but looks very agile in the picture where he's trying to outdo those kids. That sky with the rain approaching looks wonderful! I must admit that I felt a slight shudder, too, since it looks jolly nippy and I'm sitting here in summer gear.

A pity that it was raining and one good shot doesn't make up for a rainy day. We hate it when we make trips and it rains. It kind of spoils it a bit. The breakfast plate was rather full. Did you eat it all?

Greetings,
Filip

It's good to be back and to catch up with life in your part of the world. Your photographs always make it look such a big country, full of big hills and big skies. And after returning from an island which had its last rainfall three months ago, I am quite fond of the rain now.
